Building Golf Properly

Our team can deliver golf construction at the highest quality out there! whatever your golf situation may be, we have the knowledge and equipment to get the job done

Design

The Friesian team has the knowledge to create golf in a way that works for everybody. Most courses have a wide range of golfers from Pros to Senior members. We will add strategy where needed and open the course up in other areas.

Certain design fundementals are nessecary as a platform to begin.

a wide variety of par 3’s par 4’s and par 5’s on a course are most desirable by all golfers.

The course routing must have flow from one hole to the next moving in all directions so the experience is different and intersting. Typically hole 1 will start out as a visually stunning Par 4 or 5 to really get the round started off right. Most of the time hole 9 and 18 will end up around the clubhouse for obvious reasons.

Golf architecture has been going on for hundreds of years dating back to Scottland at its earliest point. Inspiration for design can come from famous designers such as, Old Tom Morris, Harry Colt, Alister MacKenzie, Donald Ross, Tom Doak, Pete Dye, Gill Hanse, Stanley Thompson, Perry Maxwell, Tom Fazio to name a few.

The approach with Friesian is to build new fun golf that pays respect to the legands that came before us.

The land and natural features in it will dictate the best locations for green sites, bunkers and whatever other golf features needed. A carefull approach is needed to ensure those desirable natural features get showcased and not destroyed in the construction process.

The main routing will be in place but flexibility is needed along the way to create the best outcome while sitting in the bulldozer and feeling the flow of the land. certain enhancesments can pot up during construction and the crew will be looking for those along the way. A detailed explaination of all this will be provided soon.

Construction

Starting out with a topgraphical survey of the land will be the first order of buisness following a creation of the course routing. Once that is established, work can begin building access roads and figuring out where all the runoff water will go. Proper drainage is the most important thing on a golf course. Most courses require a large reservoir to keep up to the water demands for the irrigation system. This can be added into the course for enhancement. Friesian can also build your reservoir. After the main shaping of the courseis complete, crews will work to install the drainage system for the course. Piping for greens, fairways and bunkers need to be installed before irrigation and out of the way. At this point EVI irrigation will install the sprinkler system. Once that is complete the fine finishing work will begin to facilitate for sod or seed. hydrseeding in native areas will also be done. Bunker sand will be put in place as well.

Grow in and Maintenance

Once everything is complete, a grow in and maintenance plan will be in place to ensure the turf will be at the highest quality for golf. Our team mostly with the help and consulting from Will Anderson will ensure success. specialty equiptment and products are needed.
